Passenger information systems in public transport vehicles - NovaBus

NovaBus is a new passenger information system designed for various vehicles in public transport: buses, trolley buses, trams, trains. NOVABUS system is advanced, reliable and easy-to-use information system, which provides fast and accurate information to the passengers.

Electronic displays, which are part of NOVABUS system are produced in various and different types, dimensions and resolutions, which ensure that this products can be mounted in different type of vehicles.

1 External LED displays

Provide information to passengers outside of the vehicle about the destination line and destination, on which public transport vehicle currently operates. Also, on this displays is possible to provide a completely arbitrary advertising and information messages, which can be created by the operator. The displays are manufactured in advanced LED technology with high brightness, and with wide viewing angle.Also very important is that good contrast, and the automatic regulation of brightness of the display according to ambient light provides excellent visibility in all weather conditions. LED displays enable the view of graphical and textual content in arbitrary alphabets (including Cyrillic), with various heights and shapes of fonts.Also there is a possibility to show the text in multiple lines. It is also secured to show a scrolling text, and alternating of multiple images on the display with the possibility to display effects. The set which would be mounted on the vehicle, contains various combination of display sizes and resolutions.

2 Internal LED Displays

Their main purpose is the announcement of stations, and to show warning messages or marketing messages. Internal LED displays are alphanumeric with several different fonts,and the messages can be shown on various languages. Text messages can be fixed or scrollable, with the possibility to show date and time.

3 Control Unit

Control Units are used to control all the electronic displays in the system,and enables to the driver to easily choose the destination line,on which the vehicle operates. Compact and suitable for installation in the driver's dashboard. Allows easy adjustment of system parameters. All lines are kept permanently in the internal flash memory. Easy transfer of lines to the control unit using MMC/SD memory cards. The selected destination lines and direction, are showed on the LCD controller of Control Unit. Communication with displays through various communication interfaces (RS485, RS232, Ethernet,IBIS). Additional digital inputs and ports for connecting a GPS receiver, and optional ticketing validator or similar devices. Automatic (according to data from GPS receiver) and manual control with voice announcement with the ability to adjust audio settings on the control unit.

4 PC software NovaBus

Complete support to the system provides PC program NovaBus_ver3 in which the lines are created, and defined the content and view on the displays. The program is fully based on the Windows OS and produced to be easy to use (user friendly). The program also allows you to define the stations, their geographical (GPS) coordinates, the texts of internal displays, and Mp3 audio files intended for the announcement at determined station.
